The « St Vincent » a perpetuating tradition

The « St Vincent » a perpetuating tradition

The winegrowers have their own St, it is called Saint Vincent. Indeed, every year on January 22, all winegrowers gather either from the whole wine region (such as the famous Saint Vincent rotating of Bourgogne) or by Vallée as at home, with us.
As far as we are concerned, we are celebrating two Saint Vincent. The first one takes place on the Sunday before January 22 and brings together the 3 communes of our little valley of Brunet (Fleury, Romery and therefore Cormoyeux : nicknamed “The Bermuda Triangle”)
On this occasion, we parade in a rotating municipality with our wine growers clothes and give to a deserving and retired winegrower of the village, a stick representing Saint Vincent, a white apron and a cape of the Brotherhood accompanied by a speech on His life course and congratulate him.
Then, on the 22nd of January, we meet every year in a turning commune in order to make a parade of costumed winegrowers, with 8 wine-producing villages in the Marne Valley (Oeuilly, Boursault, Venteuil, Damery, Fleury, Romery and Cormoyeux) Until the church to proceed to the Mass to bless the bread and wine of the year. Then the procession goes to the place of the wine of honor and to find itself around the friendship and sharing glass (flute).
To enclose the festivities, a meal is served all day long and getting together all the winemakers of the Vallée of Brunet. This year again, we hope our request heard with a fruitful and qualitative year.
